That’s what hell is; forgetting what you are.
#i am o b s e s s e d with this shot #it might as well be himself on the rack #the act of turning dean into a torturer was yet another form of torture they could inflict on him #and then he was brought back to be constantly shamed by the angels and used as a pawn #of course it was never about giving him a second chance #trust your instincts dean; there’s no such thing as miracles #he didn’t get any kind of satisfaction out of torturing alastair. that would have made things much simpler #he can hold on to his false bravado as much as he wants but at the end of the day it’s not going to make him hate himself any less#when sam identifies with monsters he puts his faith in them #he’s willing to help them change because what matters is not want you are but what you do about it #but when dean identifies with monsters it only makes him more distrustful and quick to put them down before they hurt someone else #’you don’t trust yourself?’ ‘absolutely not’ #the worst thing is that he thinks he has only himself to blame for breaking in hell #when he talks to sam about it he focuses on what he did rather than what was done to him #HE WILL NEVER STOP PUNISHING HIMSELF
